Sew Worthy Mama x Fieldstone Fabric | The Letters From Camp Quilt Kit

I have made seven Letters quilts over the past few years, but I’ve never made one like this! I’ve always wanted to make a “Letters From Camp” version, and when I saw the new Happy Camper collection from Art Gallery Fabrics, I knew this was going to be it!

Imagine sending a Letters From Camp quilt with your kids to summer camp! I can see it wrapped up with some pre-stamped post cards ready for them to send you little notes about their adventures while they’re gone!

There’s also some strong lake house or cabin in the woods vibes coming from this collection if that’s more your style!

Creating the Kit, Printing the Pattern

Mallory over at Fieldstone Fabrics had just what I needed in stock and I was so excited that she was up for making a curated kit! We worked together for a few days on her fabric pull options and digital mock-ups. It was so fun to put together!

Working on this kit even gave me the push I needed to finally finish my paper pattern version of Letters, too!

Now, I’m so excited to share the new paper pattern and this special quilt kit!

I was so excited to receive this kit in the mail. And yes, I’ll be updating this post as I get my quilt made. I have fabric pull and cut pieces photos ready to share, and more progress pics (and the finished quilt!) are coming.

The Kit

If you love the “order, cut, sew” feeling of having everything decided and ready to sew, the Letters From Camp Kit is going to be your best friend. All you have to choose is your favorite background color. I went with Rosemary, but English Toffee and Macchiato are just as lovely!

This kit includes:

  • Fabric for a throw size (50.5” x 63”) quilt top + binding

  • A curated fat quarter selection from Art Gallery Fabrics, pulled from a mix of collections including:

    • Happy Camper

    • Heirloom

    • Juniper

    • Kindred

    • Plaid of My Dreams

  • Your choice of background in 3 AGF Pure Solids options:

    • Rosemary (green)

    • English Toffee (dark brown)

    • Macchiato (tan)

A quick heads up so there are no surprises:

  • Kits do not include batting, backing, or the pattern.

  • You can add backing to your order. I went with the Retro Blooms floral over navy. My next choice would be Jamboree.

Because these kits are very limited, if you want one, don’t wait too long!

The Pattern (PDF or Paper)

The Letters Quilt is beginner-friendly, fast to piece, and has that “this is going to be kept forever” kind of heart behind it.

Here’s what makes it extra fun:

  • Efficient piecing method that makes 4 blocks at a time (yes, please!)

  • Confident beginner-friendly

  • Scrap friendly and fat quarter friendly

  • Two sizes: Baby + Throw

  • Two colorways: Ombré or Scrappy/Fat Quarter

  • Includes printable cut fabric labels and block assembly labels (small thing, big sanity-saver)

  • Bonus projects on the blog

It’s the kind of quilt that works for so many themes, and “Letters From Camp” is becoming one of my favorites! But it can also be:

  • Love Letters

  • Letters to Santa (or Christmas Cards!)

  • Letters to Troops

  • A signature quilt for retirements, birthdays, showers, and more
