"Letters" Quilt Pattern
NEWS: A Letters Quilt Along begins October 10th-November 20th. Sign up HERE. View the quilt along schedule and prize information HERE.
“Letters” includes two sizes–baby and throw–as well as two color versions–ombré and scrappy/fat quarter. It also includes several bonus projects!
This pattern is a downloadable digital file. It can be printed at home if you like. It is clickable--page references are linked so you can click and easily go straight to the right place.
“Letters” is beginner friendly as well as scrap and fat quarter friendly.
The ombré version creates eight extra blocks for which several bonus project ideas are included: pillows, wall hangings, and single envelope mini quilts (which can be mailed as letters themselves or exchanged as “quilters trading blocks”).
“Letters” features an efficient piecing method that makes 4 blocks at a time–meaning it’s fast to piece. No matter how busy you are or how sporadic your creative time may be, you can make the “Letters” Quilt!
The pattern includes a quilt label and instructions for printing on fabric at home. It also includes printable fabric and column labels to keep you organized while sewing.
See table for fabric requirements and suggestions. Directional fabrics are NOT recommended for this quilt.
Did you ever write and send actual handwritten letters? You know, like on paper, with envelopes and stamps?? When I was young, I wrote to my grandma who only lived two houses away and a pen pal who lived across the world in Australia!
I wrote the “Letters” Quilt Pattern as an homage to my grandma who exchanged letters with me my entire life and who taught me to quilt. If you are nostalgic for snail mail or have a stash of collected letters in your closet, this quilt pattern was written for you!
