The Quilt Design
This quilt pattern was designed after a barn quilt painting I painted 12 years ago for my grandmother, June. The #QuiltBlockMania blog hop theme for December 2022 is Barn Quilt Blocks, and it's what inspired me to turn my painting into a pattern!
When I was playing with the design for #QuiltBlockMania, I noticed that when the block is laid out as a quilt, a secondary star block forms in the corners. So, naturally, I HAD to write an entire quilt pattern! I included SEVEN sizes and two color ways in this one for you!

Half-Square Triangle Love
Are you an HST lover? If so, June's Pinwheel is for you! This quilt is made with lots and lots of HSTs. Luckily, the math worked out just right to be able to use the most efficient 8-at-a-time HST method for every single HST!
Sizes and Color Ways
Seven sizes are included in this pattern! Pillow (or wall hanging!), Table Runner, Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King! You can make a June's Pinwheel quilt for anyone and any use!
For a little more variety, I also included two color ways: single block repeat, and alternating blocks. I can't decide which is my favorite!

I had such an amazing group of quilt testers for June's Pinwheel! Follow #SWMJunesPinwheel to check out everyone at once, and check out THIS POST that includes every single tester and links to their individual Instagram profiles.
Here are just a couple that were standouts!
Olivia at Rose Petal Quilt Shop has two quilt kits available!
One is for a baby size using Fableism Sprout Wovens just like her tester version here:
The other is a throw size Christmas version!
Color Palette Inspiration
Fabric designer Tara Reed generously provided fabric for my version of June's Pinwheel. Her Winter Barn Quilts collection for Riley Blake Designs was perfect for this project!

I found a new ruler while making my June's Pinwheel quilt--the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers by New Leaf Stitches. I HIGHLY recommend it for this pattern. It saves a lot of time in the trimming stage by allowing you trim 4 sides at once BEFORE you press your HSTs open. The little slots on the sides also let you trim off the dog ears. Basically, it's genius, and if you plan to make this quilt, you'll be glad you have it! You can buy them in pairs of even numbers and half inch, but for this quilt, the Trimmer A will do if you only want to purchase one.
